The Real Club Valderrama is located in Sotogrande.

During its early days it was firstly named Sotogrande New and then changed to Las Aves Golf Club in 1981. Mr Jaime Ortiz Patiño purchased Las Aves Golf Club in 1984 along with some extra land. At his request Mr Jones returned to re-design the course.

In Jan 1985, Club de Golf Valderrama was founded, thus creating the first page in its illustrious history.

Thanks to Mr Ortiz Patiño’s desire, determination and hard work, it took Valderrama only a few years to attain its top position in the Golf World rankings – a position that Valderrama has proudly held and maintained since 1989. Valderrama is also consistently in the top 50 Golf Courses in the world. Valderrama’s quality speaks for itself with the Golf Club having hosted many tournaments.

The Real Club Valderrama Golf Course can be enjoyed equally by the handicap and scratch golfer. The positioning of the tees and the shaping of the fairways allow the 24 handicap man and the 32 handicap lady to enjoy Valderrama as much as the top players in the world.
