The Pinheiros Altos Golf Resort is located in the heart of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, a nationally protected area known for its outstanding beauty. As a haven for rare and endangered nesting and migrating birds, Pinheiros Altos Golf Resort will remain a low-density housing area and will always take every precaution to protect the surrounding environment.

This Parkland Course can be a mental challenge due to well placed hazards, including several lakes. The Pines (4 of the new holes and 5 of the old front 9) and the Corks (5 of the new holes and 4 of the old front 9) are tree lined and undulating with spectacular views of the Ludo valley and the Goldra hills beyond. One thousand additional pine trees were planted to blend the new with the old. The Olivos (the old back 9) is fairly flat with a very gently rolling landscape.

The Pines signature hole is the 9th hole, a stunning Par 3 over a valley to a McKenzie green. The Corks signature hole is the 8th hole – a very difficult Par 5 with a double dogleg. The signature hole on the Olives is the 8th hole.

All 3 nine holes have their starting and finishing points in close proximity to the Clubhouse.

The original 18 holes of Pinheiros Altos Golf Course opened in 1992 and were designed by Ronald Fream. The additional 9 holes were designed by George Santana da Silva and opened in 2007.
