Sir Henry Cotton was inspired by the beautiful old church next to the site of the Clubhouse and by the spectacular location. The result is a delightful golf course, which offers a pleasant playing experience to players of all standards. The Course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning. The indigenous olive, cork, carob, fig and almond trees, many centuries old, feature aesthetically and in playing terms. Water hazards and sand bunkers are located to test the strategy and striking ability of the player.

The Benamor Golf Course opened in 1986 and was designed by Sir Henry Cotton.
