Situated in the Eastern Coast, the Quinta da Ria Resort is perfectly integrated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, the most significant Eco-system in the Algarve, comprising of a line of barrier Islands along the coast, making this protected wet-land a rich nature habitat for numerous biological species. There are two 18 hole Courses – Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima.
The Quinta da Ria Course offers amazing views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Cacela Velha beach which has been awarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
The design maintains the original natural landscape with thousands of ancient Olive and Carob trees and boasting 5 lakes dotted within the flat terrain. The 17th hole, which has a small island on the lake. is now a sanctuary of endangered rare birds.
The Quinta da Ria Golf Course opened in 2002 and was designed by Rocky Roquemore.
